The trial of the 35 PAME trade unionists was further postponed on Tuesday. The trade unionists were dragged to court for the mobilization they conducted at the Ministry of Labour for the Social Security rights.
It is worth noting that the reason of the further delay of the case is that the crown witnesses, who are the colleagues of the Minister of Labour Mr. Vroutsis, did not attend for the second consecutive time. Those are the witnesses that gave the statements for persecution of the trade unionists, within the government’s framework of provoking and attacking the class – oriented trade union movement.
The new trial date will be on June 12th.
“We continue with great decisiveness. The class- oriented trade union movement, the working class, the popular strata, struggle for the blocking, the tearing down of the anti- labour policies, for the success of the forthcoming struggles, for the success of the General Strike to take place on February 20th. We struggle to break down the terrorism inside the work places that the government is imposing by all means” said Dimos Koubouris, President of the Pensioners Federation and one of the 35 arrested trade unionists in his speech addressed to the gathered protesters outside of the courthouse.
PAME wants to thank all the trade union organizations and the trade unionists who expressed the solidarity to the 35 arrested trade unionists.
