On Wednesday, December 11, took place a big and successful National Strike of Bank Employees against the announced layoffs of bank employees.

The big banks announced a series of measures in order to advance their competitiveness. These measures include shutting down of branches and whole departments, expansion of outsourcing, imposition of more flexible working relations and layoffs.

With their massive and militant participation to the strike, the bank employees gave a first response to the bankers. The bank employees, during the strike in Athens demonstrated in front of the Ministry of Labor.
