PAME’s Committee Against the Confiscations of Homes by the Banks held a new protest on Wednesday, November 13 to cancel ALPHA BANK’s plan to auction off the home of a poor family, which was to lose their home because of bank loans.

The protest started at the office which organized the auctioning and continued at the Headquarters of the ALPHA Bank. Against the small number of protesters the Bank called the police which brought dozens of Riot Policemen to protect the bank and forward the confiscation of the family’s home.

The decisiveness of the protesters pressured the bank, which agreed to meet with the family and discuss a solution to the payment of the loan without the family losing their home.

PAME condemned the use of the Police as Security of the Banks against the people.
