Protest demonstration at the Embassy of Bangladesh

Delegation of PAME and of the Federation of Workers in Textile & Clothing Industries carried out a protest demonstration at the Embassy of Bangladesh on November 28, for the tragic death of 120 working women and men at the Tarzreen Fashion factory in Bangladesh.

We condemn the working conditions of workers in textile industries in Bangladesh, where the regulation of health and safety is not applied by the employers and the profits amounted to 20 billion dollars annually from the export of textile products mainly to the U.S. and Europe for the multinational companies.

We also condemn the government of Bangladesh, which does not want to force the employers to take all the necessary measures for the health and safety of workers. More than 700 workers in the textile industries have lost their lives in the last decade for the cause of profit. This is a continuous crime of capitalists against the workers in Bangladesh.

We express our sincere condolences and support to the families of the dead workers and we are on the side of the working class of Bangladesh in its struggles for the abolition of the exploitation of man by man.
