PAME salutes the thousands of workers, young workers, unemployed, pensioners, women and migrants, poor farmers, self-employed that demonstrated today all over Greece and massively participated in the strike rallies of 1ST May.
133 years after the blood-shed uprising of Chicago, we raise our fists, we raise the flags of the struggle and with this year’s slogan “against capitalist exploitation and imperialist wars with worker’s unions and not of the governments’ and employers”, we continue unwaveringly and class oriented, militantly for the reconstruction of the worker’s trade union movement.
The system of exploitation cannot become more humane as its defenders say! Capitalist development cannot be “just” and “sustainable”. It cannot satisfy today’s contemporary popular needs. Today we can live without poverty, unemployment and imperialist wars, without any imperialists and coup de etats, without the EU and NATO that have brought misery to the people.
The 1st of May events of PAME began with the laying of wreaths in honor of the working class heroes.
In the framework of the internationalist solidarity with the Palestinian people, the Ambassador of Palestine in Greece greeted in the central rally of PAME in Athens.
At the same time greetings from the trade unions of Naklyat-is inTurkey, trade union “Left Block” in Austria, “Sloga” in Serbia and “ OSCMS” in Czech Republic were read.
The central speech started with a massage of solidarity to the people of Venezuela against the imperialist attempted coup and it was followed by a concert. At the same time PAME held massive and militant strike rallies all over Greece.
We also note that the central rally called by GSEE leadership, a member of ETUC, in Athens was again only a few dozen people.
PAME calls all workers, trade unions and trade unionists who want to change the situation in the trade union movement. To stand up, take a step and walk together the beautiful path of struggle, the conflict with the interests of business groups, the struggle for the modern rights of workers, and the abolition of exploitation of man by man.
Long Live the 1st of May and the International working class!
Long live the friendship and the solidarity of the people!
