PAME held a meeting of Unions and Unionists of the Attica, Athens Region to discuss the new organization plan and demands of the class forces.

In the opening speech was noted the need to organize workers’ response to the anti workers’ attack that is escalating during the pandemic. Specifically stated:

“We are here today to discuss the organization of workers’ resistance against the anti-popular policies of the government and business groups, to defend the health and rights of the people. We step on the successful mass mobilization of the Trade Unions of Thessaloniki, which was a militant, unifying response of the workers against the new anti-popular measures announced by the Prime Minister. It has been confirmed by the announcements of the government that our people have nothing to expect, except new burdens and sacrifices, in order to strengthen the profitability of business groups. We are in a critical period. It must sound the alarm in the Trade Unions, in the working class as a whole. We strengthen the mobilizations in every field, in every workplace. We are organizing a general response with all workers rally on October 13 in Athens. We are escalating with new workers’ actions. The Trade Unions that rally with PAME to be at the forefront of organizing the workers’ resistance and counterattack to defend our interests.”

In the opening speech it was also noted the important anniversary of WFTU’s 75 Years since its foundation on October 3rd and the need to strengthen WFTU, internationalism and class solidarity
