With campaigns, visits, posters and leaflets in Metro, bus and train stations unions from all sectors demanded safety measures and immediate actions for people’s transport. Specifically the unions demanded
- More buses and metro routes etc to accommodate the needs of the people especially at peak hours in all means of transport.
- Free transport for all workers who have been fired or whose employment contract has been suspended
- Direct state funding for:
Recruitment of permanent staff of all specialties with full employment and insurance rights.
Repair and renewal of the bus and metro fleet with the purchase of new vehicles and wagons.
No private business activity in urban transport. Requisition of buses of private companies, without compensation for the period of the pandemic
