COSCO Dockers Strike Breaks State Oppression
The dockers of COSCO gave a powerful response to the attempts of the multinational and the Government of Greece to break the Strike with oppression and intimidations.

On Saturday, April 30, one day before May Day, the Government send hundreds of riot police forces, armored tracks and Coast Guard special forces to block the picket lines of the dockers and break the strike.
Against these tactics hundreds of workers came to the port in solidarity with the strike and condemned the attempts to break the strike. The determination of the COSCO workers to strike resulted in the morning shift not even one worker passing the line with the strike succeeding 100%.
Against this development the employer gathered 30 lackeys along with 20 workers who were threatened and blackmailed and were put on buses, with police escort to enter the docks.
The workers responded with humor, applauding the Special Forces for their “service”
This tactic strengthened the workers determination in support of the strike which continued for May Day, with a call for a big solidarity event at the docks. After the strike rallies thousands of workers reached the docks to express their solidarity. Also Soldiers and sailors from the Greek Army and Navy send their support and solidarity, students of Piraeus, and more

The ENEDEP-COSCO Workers’ Union stated that the employer will have time till May 6 to respond to the workers’ demands for the Collective Contract
“We use the following days to coordinate even better with other sectors of Piraeus, to gather forces, to prepare even better for the future. It became clear that the port closes and opens, when the workers who work it decide it.
We make it clear that we will not tolerate any threat of employer to any colleague, we are all one person, we have proven this and so we will continue.
All workers united. Everyone in the Union. No colleague alone”

Με προηγούμενο έγγραφο μας που σας αποστείλαμε στις 14 Απριλίου 2022 σας απευθύναμε πρόσκληση για συνάντηση ώστε να ξεκινήσουμε την διαπραγμάτευση για την σύναψη και υπογραφή νέων επιχειρησιακών ΣΣΕ ανάμεσα στα επιχειρησιακά σωματεία μας και στις επιχειρήσεις (ΦΑΓΕ, ΕΜFI, HQF, ELBISCO) συμφερόντων οικογένειας ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ.
Τα αιτήματα μας είναι:

Αυξήσεις 10% σε μισθούς και ημερομίσθια.

Ξεπάγωμα όλων των προσαυξήσεων (τριετίες, επίδομα γάμου κ.α).

Κατώτερος βασικός μισθός στα συγκεκριμένα εργοστάσια 950 ευρώ.
-
Μετατροπή όλων των συμβάσεων σε αορίστου χρόνου, κατάργηση εργολαβικής εργασίας και των συμβάσεων ορισμένου χρόνου.
Προτείνουμε η συνάντηση να γίνει την Πέμπτη 19 Μαΐου 2022 και ώρα 2.00 μμ στο αμφιθέατρο της επιχείρησης ΦΑΓΕ Α.Ε (Ερμού 35 – Μεταμόρφωση Αττικής). Τα σωματεία μας θα εκπροσωπηθούν από δύο συναδέλφους το καθένα, τον Πρόεδρο και τον Γ.Γραμματέα. Στην συνάντηση θα παρευρεθεί και ο Πρόεδρος της Πανελλήνιας Ομοσπονδίας Γάλακτος Τροφίμων Ποτών Καραντούσας Μανώλης.

May Day Internationalist event with Migrant workers in Manolada
A very successful May Day event took place in the town of Manolada, with hundreds of Migrant workers from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and other countries participating massively.
The event was organized by the Regional Trade Unions of Amaliada and Patras and the Committee of land workers. The event highlighted the need to strengthen the common struggle of the workers irrespective of race, religion or nationality, against racism and xenophobia.
The event presented traditional music and dances from Greece and the countries of origin of the migrant workers.

Greece May Day 2022 Strong Message of Struggle Against Inflation- Against Imperialist War
A powerful message of resistance was sent by thousands of people who demonstrated on May Day in dozens of cities all over Greece against inflation, against the imperialist war.
The strike rallies in all the cities of the country were characterized by great massiveness, in honor of the heroes of the working class, the historic workers-popular struggles, the workers’ conquests in the unrelenting struggle against the exploiters.
136 years after the uprising in Chicago, in the shadow of another imperialist war in Ukraine and a continuing antiworkers’ attack, the messages of May Day are a beacon of light for workers around the world, they make relevant the slogan “Hope lies in the struggle of the peoples” with hundreds of thousands of people across the country demonstrating with the banners of PAME and WFTU.
4 massive demonstrations took place in the Region of Attica with especially massive participation in Athens’s center and Piraeus port.
All rallies in Attica called the workers, after the demonstrations to go to the docks of COSCO in solidarity with the big strike of the dockworkers
