November 25, 2012 was marked by another employers’ crime, where 124 workers were killed, locked inside their workplace in Bangladesh.
A few months ago, the police had killed 13 workers protesting for the signing of a collective agreement. 700 fatal accidents have happened, from the early 90s till today, with the tolerance and cover- up of the government to the employers.
The State and the employers, united attack against the working class of Bangladesh and sow death to ensure the profits of the multinationals that control the textile industry. The share of revenue from the textile exports reaches 70%. This percentage ensures for the plutocracy more than 20 billion, under inhumane working conditions, torture, child labor, unpaid or uninsured work. .
Accidents, deficiencies in sanitation and safety are phenomena inherent in capitalism, and as long as the lives of the workers are considered an expendable item for the production of surplus value, the crimes of governments and employers will keep on happening.
