Thousands of Teachers, along with parents and students’ associations demonstrated on Monday, October 11 in Athens and other cities against the government’s class reforms in Education.
The demonstration started in front of Efeteio Court where the Ministry of Education had demanded that the teachers’ strike be declared illegal. Against this attempt of criminalization of the struggle more than 100.000 teachers went on strike reaching participation of 70-90%!
With the solidarity of the class unions and workers from other sectors and the FISE of WFTU the teachers’ demonstration flooded the streets and reached the Parliament where it met with the thousands of students who protested with them against class barriers in education.
