The majority of workers in our sector have been in work suspension since the end of March. At the same time, the few colleagues who are currently working face a huge intensification of work and insufficient measures for their health and safety, in their workplace, in public transport and in public places.
Using the pandemic as an excuse, the government is trying to load the new capitalist crisis on the backs of the workers, in order to ensure the profits of the large monopoly groups active in the tourism and catering sector in Greece.
The repression of the Greek state is intensifying against any organization and claim of the workers, in order to limit the action of the class oriented unions and the pioneer workers.
WE DEMAND
- Abolish all anti-popular laws of the EU-IMF-ECB memoranda and all anti-labor provisions passed on the occasion of the pandemic.
- To ensure the income of employees with responsibility of the state and employers and prohibit redundancies.
- To include all workers of the sector in the support mechanism and grant unemployment benefits to all the unemployed without terms and conditions for the entire period of unemployment.
- Free access to public transport for employees in suspension of work and for those in state programs on the occasion of the pandemic.
- Do not let the shame of unpaid overtime pass.
- Immediate health protection measures in the workplace and free tests for all employees under the responsibility of the state and the employers.
- To sign collective contracts with increases in salaries and rights. Make their implementation mandatory throughout the industry.
- Social Security and Health for all, public, mandatory. Abolition of all business activities in Health and Insurance.
