All Workers Militant Front, PAME, that represents the class trade union movement of Greece, we express our solidarity to FNIC CGT, the unions and workers of France who mobilize at the city of Amiens against the persecution of Goodyear Workers.
The workers of the Amiens factory of the multinational Goodyear held a long lasting struggle against the plans of the company to shut down the factory-to transfer their works in countries with “cheaper” workers- and through into unemployment the 1200 workers of the factory. The workers’ struggles, against the idea of “class collaboration” and compromising with the demands of the employers, create obstacles to the plans of the multinational. That is why they suffered the dirty attacks of the company, the media and the persecutions by the so called “independent” justice, which convicted 8 workers into 9 month imprisonment.
Real aim of those persecutions and the convictions of the 8 workers is to intimidate all the workers. The business groups aim to transform the work places into ghettos, with complete silence, without struggles, without reactions to the layoffs, the wage cuts, the abolition of workers’ rights. Those are the “best European practices” that the Greek Government of Syriza wants to impose in Greece.
The class trade union movement of Greece expresses its solidarity to the persecuted workers and our support to the mobilization of October 19.
We demand the cancelation of the 8 workers’ conviction!
