It is a pleasure for me to inform you that strike at Leroy Merlin Turkey has ended in victory in the 16th day of the strike.
Employer responded to our demands to a great extent and the collective agreement was concluded among parties.
We gained a collective agreement for three years, ensured protection of union rights and job security of our members, acquired a fair wage increase, a package of social benefits and advancement of working conditions. Please find detailed information in the press statement below.
Most importantly, we won the victory in the first strike at do-it-yourself market and at shopping malls in Turkey.
However, we are well aware of the fact that victory belongs not only to Leroy Merlin workers and Sosyal-Is, but to all supporting us in our struggle.
In that sense, we would like to thank you for standing in solidarity with us. Your support and your solidarity encouraged us and strengthened our faith in victory; your support and your solidarity showed employer the fact that globally supported workers would not be defeated.
I would also like to note that, it is the beginning; our struggle continues for commerce workers, especially hundreds of thousands of commerce workers employed in shopping malls, the new “factories” of commerce sector.
