November 19th City of Larissa
The people of Larissa demanded the immediate ending of the murderous attacks of Israel against Palestine, by taking part in the demonstration organised by the Regional Trade Union of Larissa with the local Peace Council.(Larissa is the biggest city in central Greece)
The slogans used, were against the Israeli attack, and also against the plans for imperialist intervention to Syria-Iran. In their resolution, the organisers of the demonstration demand that the Greek government cancels the military exercises and all military cooperation treaties between Greece and Israel. Also not to use the local NATO base, in the imperialist plans for the Middle East.
November 20th, Salonica
A massive and militant demonstration of solidarity to the Palestinian people and condemnation of the murderous attacks of Israel -with the support of USA-NATO-EU – against Gaza, was held in the city centre, where the American Consulate is located.
The demonstrators expressed their solidarity to the workers and the people of Palestine, who fight for a viable and dominant state in the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. The mobilisation ended with the demonstrators burning the flags of the USA, Israel and the EU.
November 21st, Katerini
PAME organised a demonstration in the streets of Katerini (a city of Greece with very high percentages of unemployed) expressing solidarity to the people of Palestine, demanding the return of the refugees, the immediate ending of the Israeli occupation, the demolition of the Wall and the ending of the blockade against the Palestinians in the West Bank and in Gaza.
November 22nd, Crete
Mobilisations in two cities of Crete (Heraklion and Chania) were organised by PAME to express solidarity to Palestine and demand the shutting down of the NATO base that is located at the island. No ports or air space of Greece to be used for the plans of the imperialists for the Middle East.
November 28th, Athens
A massive protest at the Israeli embassy was organised by PAME and popular organisations of Athens. During the protest, delegation of the protesters delivered a resolution in spite of the refusal of the embassy’s representatives to accept it. The resolution demands the ending of the Israeli imperialist barbarity against the Palestinian people and highlights:
“We denounce the new crime of Israel in Gaza that cost the lives of more than 160 people, many of them children. We are on guard, because we know that this development had and still has direct relation with the interventions that are planned in the region against the people of Iran and Syria.
We deliver message of disobedience to the imperialists of the USA and the EU as well as of other states in the region that support Israel in many ways to its criminal acts. We condemn the Greek political parties that impose the military cooperation with the state-murderer, Israel.”
