Dear comrades at PAME,

The General Federation of Independent Trade Unions strongly condemns the unjust prosecution and intimidation campaign against the esteemed trade unionist and president of the ENEDEP Dockworkers Union, Comrade Markos.

This act represents a grave violation of trade union freedoms and an attack on the principles of international solidarity. The General Secretariat of our Federation has been called to convene tomorrow urgently to deliberate on this serious matter and issue an official statement of condemnation and denunciation of this injustice.

We stand firmly with PAME and with all workers defending justice, peace, and the rights of the Palestinian people.
