The World Federation of Trade Unions, the militant voice of more than 105 million workers from 133 countries all over the world, extends firm solidarity to the Striking Workers in Greece and their class-oriented trade unions that struggle through the ranks of PAME.
Several strikes have already been organized and are preparing in many major sectors such as Maritime, Teachers, Dockers, Metalworkers, Workers in Hotels, Tourism, Catering, delivery, and construction in all big cities of the country demanding Collective Contracts with better wages as well as Health and Safety regulations at work. This big wave of strikes is realized in view of the General Strike on 20 November.
The WFTU strongly condemns the Greek government’s efforts to criminalize and cancel decisions on three strike actions. The message that is heard clearly and loudly in many workplaces all over the country is that the workers are decisive in strengthening their struggle to defend their class interests and to achieve their just demands.
The international class-oriented trade union movement express its undivided solidarity and support to the just demand and struggles of the Greek working class.
