Trade Union of workers in Catering, Tourism & Hotels in Attica: Solidarity to the Sri Lankan people

Δημοσιεύτηκε στις

The trade union of workers in Catering, Tourism & Hotels in Attica Region of Greece, express our solidarity to the Sri Lankan people who struggle over the last months, for a life with dignity. People of Sri Lanka face extreme lack of basic food supplies & shortage of petrol, continuous blackouts and an increase to the inflation rate, all of which are the results of the capitalistic economic crisis.

The Government of Sri Lanka in order to face the massive protests of the inhabitants of the country and their fair struggle reacts with violence and suppression. They have already arrested many fighters among which are members of trade unions and Janaka Antikari who is the president of the International Organization of Hotel Workers (HOTUR) and a member of the council of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU).

We denounce the actions of the government of Sri Lanka and we demand the immediate release of all fighters who have been taken under custody.
