A big Union meeting took place on Monday, May 16 in Thessaloniki by the class unions under the theme “Today’s great class struggles, a beacon in the fight for life and work with rights, at the height of our needs”.
Main conclusion of the meeting was that Class struggle, with the active participation of the workers in action, the strengthening of solidarity and demand, guided by the workers’ needs can bring important positive results in daily struggles.
The event was attended by representatives of dozens of trade unions in Thessaloniki and around cities, many employees from a number of workplaces.
The meeting also informed on the victory of the Miners Union SEMLA which won the cancellation of the layoff of the Union’s president by the multinational EDILMAC and his reinstatement with back pay, after months of continuous actions, struggles and interventions.
