The All-Workers Militant Front of Greece (PAME) denounces the continuous imprisonment of the five elected trade union leaders of the Metalworkers for the attack and the intrusion yesterday at the Military Ministry.

We demand the immediate release of invariably all the arrested. We demand the immediate ending of the persecutions against the five trade union leaders. We demand from the Mass Media to stop the slanders against the cadres of PAME referring to “hostilities” and “terrorist attack”. The cadres of PAME that remain imprisoned:

  1. Thodoris Koutras, elected in the Administration of the Trade Union in the largest shipyard of the country, metalworkers, heading the Metal Sector of PAME, member of the Executive Committee of PAME and member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and

  2. Sotiris Poulikogiannis, metalworkers, President of the Trade Union of Metal of Piraeus and member of the leadership of TUI Metal of the World Federation of Trade Unions,

did only perform their duties in the first line of the struggle for the occupation of the Military Ministry because while in Greece the shipyards close down, the Ministry and the governments of Greece give billions of euros in Germany, USA and France for the construction of ships of the Navy.

We demand the immediate release of the trade union leaders. We support and express our solidarity to all the workers for their fair struggle.
