Solidarity with the workers and trade unions of Turkey

PAME denounces the arrest of Remzi Çalışkan, Vice President of DİSK and President of the Genel-Is Union and the President of the Mersin branch of Genel-Is colleague Kemal Göksoy.

The arrests of the trade unionists came at a time when the collective labour agreements in municipalities and the minimum wage are being discussed. It is clear that the arrests of the trade unionists are nothing but a policy of intimidation and pressure on hundreds of thousands of Turkish workers. Trade union organization is not a crime, it is a right of workers!

PAME expresses its solidarity with the workers and trade unions of Turkey against the state repression and intimidations! We demand the release of trade unionists Remzi Çalışkan and Kemal Göksoy!
