Until today more than 200 hundred Federations, Regional Trade Union Centers, Industrial and Branch Trade Unions have responded to PAME’s call for Action to Cancel the New Anti-Popular Agreement! They call to massive protests all over Greece for June 11. At the same time they prepare and call the workers to be ready for National General Strike.

No worker should be uninformed. Without knowing what is being prepared against him.

All the Trade Union organizations, the working class and the popular strata must respond massively, militantly, decisively to the new memorandum that is being prepared jointly by the Greek Government and the European Union-IMF-ECB.

We send message of fighting resistance and demand against the new provocative wishes of the industrialists and the business groups.

PAME (All Workers Militant Front) denounces the continuing “industry” of trade union prosecutions against workers who are fighting for their rights.

 On Friday, May 29th, in the city of Kavala, goes on trial the appeal of 20 seamen, who were sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment with 3 years suspension, because they “dared” to go on strike. The Trade Union persecution of the specific maritime workers is not an isolated incident, but follows the dozens persecutions of trade unionists, particularly in Ferry line of Kavala, aiming to criminalize any trade union action, the collective struggle, to hit all the trade unions that are fighting against the ship owners, to terrorize workers and “untie” the hands of the ship-owners in exploiting with no limits the workers.

 The government of SYRIZA bears great responsibility, because as government it retains all the anti-labor legal arsenal of the previous governments, while preparing a new attack on labor rights with the new agreement-memorandum. The intensification of the anti-labor attack by Government and Employers will bring a new wave of trade union persecutions, new attack on the right to strike.

 Faced with these developments and in front of the new agreement that is being prepared, workers must respond now with massive class struggle! By escalating the class Solidarity, Organization in the trade unions, collective action against the ship-owners, bankers and governments that serve them. This is the path to break terrorism!

 Trade union rights and the right to Strike are conquests of the labor movement and no court can make them illegal in the minds of workers. Law is the right of the workers!

 We call on trade unions, the popular movement to condemn the industry of trade union persecution. To express massive Solidarity with the persecuted workers.

PAME denounces the ITUC (this notorious international trade union organ of the multinationals) which contributes to the intimidation campaign of the Greek people, the campaign in favor of a new agreement that will continue the slaughter of Greek workers. By a press release on May 27, the ITUC criticizes the IMF for its “hard” attitude in the negotiations as opposed to “friendly” European Union.

The ITUC, like the GSEE in Greece, are used to line the Greek workers behind a government and an agreement that will continue destroying people’s lives. Specifically, serving special interests, the ITUC take sides with one imperialist camp against the other, inviting the workers to become supporters of the imperialist European Union, to support the goals of business groups. The intervention of the ITUC, like GSEE in Greece, aims to mislead the workers, to make the working class co sign its own massacre. These forces must be isolated and condemned by the workers.

The new government of SYRIZA continues the implementation of all anti-worker laws of the previous governments, and prepares how they will push the Greek people in accepting a new memorandum. Any negotiations between the EU-IMF-ECB and the Greek Government are not in ANY point about the recovering of the losses of the Greek people. The negotiations are concerned with the support of the monopolies, multinationals, and the local and foreign capital.

The real trade unions – not the well paid bosses of ITUC-are currently organizing and prepare the working class to respond to the new anti-popular measures. The forces of PAME is in preparation battle for a General National strike in Response to the new Memorandum, while over 200 -until now- trade unions in Greece are calling for rallies on June 11 against the new agreement.
