National Meeting on Sunday 16 March

PAME Secretariat called for Sunday 16 March for a national meeting of Regional Trade Unions, Federations, unions of the private and public sector, trade unionists on the subject:

“Their profits or our lives!

Evaluation of the General Strike on 28 February and the mass demonstrations

All in the battle to organise the General strike April 9″

The slogan “Their profits or our lives” seals the enormous mobilizations of the last weeks that demanded that there be no cover-up of the crime in Tempe and that the real cause that led to this tragedy, which is none other than the profit of the business groups, be reversed. This is the cause that gives rise to the small and large Tempe of our lives, in the workplaces, hospitals, schools and universities, in the horrors of war, in the abandonment of the people in natural disasters, in the actions of people’s homes, with poverty growing.

Because real “justice” is to overturn the policies that create new Tempe, so that we can live with our families a life of dignity, security and rights. Only then can we “breathe oxygen” from the rottenness of a state that stands hostile to the needs of the people, escalating intimidations and repression.

The great mobilisations and especially the success of the general strike on 28 February showed the power of the organised people, showed the way in which we can impose our right. With the strength of the common struggle and the united struggle of the workers, the youth and the popular strata against their common opponent, the enemy state, the governments, the EU and the business groups.
