Thousands of workers demonstrated in Piraeus on Tuesday, October 3, protesting at the working conditions that cripple workers, who even sacrifice their lives in the name of the famous “development”, but also demanding that measures be taken now for the protection of the health and safety of workers.

The mobilization was organized after 2 new employer crimes that took place on Monday October 2. A fatal work “accident” with victim, a worker who was working on an old sewage shaft, work that had been given to a contractor. And also a very serious injury of another worker in the shipyards of Salamina.

“No more workers’ blood for employers’ profits”, demanded unions and workers from a range of sectors, including metal, construction, cleaning, shipyard and port workers, municipal and regional workers.

When the demonstration reached the place of the workers’ death, thousands held a minute of silence and wrote with red paint.
