The time has come! We demand substantial pay rises now!
A 24hour strike on February 8 in the 4 big companies of the Sector, Teleperformance, WebΗelp, TTEC, Foundever was decided by the massive open meeting held in the Regional Trade Union Center of Piraeus. Thousands of telecommunication employees discussed openly and democratically and decided Strike Action on February 8.
Our decision was derived from the mockery of an answer that we received by the Management of Teleperformance as a reply to the demands our delegation raised at the meeting. They send us a two-page letter why we should be happy to work at the “best workplace” and we are given the chance to be able to maximize their profits and help their investments while our salaries last for half of the month, we have no heating and are afraid to check the electricity bills. They reminded us that we are also entitled to a discount book, even though some of us cannot start a family or others provide for our children! All in all, they did not commit to any of our demands!
The time is now, we act united and demand our rights. It is our workforce that is vital for the business and we have every right to negotiate its price with better terms. Teleperformance has given no pay rises since 2010 while the cost of living has skyrocketed. We are well aware the other big companies of the sector are afraid their employees will also raise their voices and act. This is why we proceed with a united voice in the 4 major companies. We experience the same problems in WebHelp, in TTEC, in Fοundever. That is why our response must be the same!
We are the ones taking the calls, we are the ones answering the chats, closing the tickets, writing the emails. They are used to treat us like numbers, they do not respect any aspect of human life, our health, our families, even our lives, to maximize their profits. Not any more, it is time for us to make those companies, better places to work, for the workers!
Leave no minute go by, leave no-one that will not be informed, all of us are covered by the legal statements that the union will send to the managements for members and non members of the union. All of us should participate, it is a fight that we will all give together, side by side, and we will win!
We have decided the following:
- 24 hour strike starting Thursday February 8th 07.00 until Friday 07.00 in Teleperformance, Webhelp, TTEC, Foundever
- To be covered by the strike send an email to the management of your project a few minutes before your last shift stating that you join the strike called by SETIP under law 1264/82, and do not login during the strike.
- During the strike those working from home or in the buildings, we meet in front of the main buildings of each company, Gravias 25 for Teleperformance, for WebHelp, for TTEC, and Foundever, at 08.00 on Thursday February 8th.
- We meet at 12.00 at Syntagma Square same day February 8th, to protest in front of the Greek Parliament and make our struggle known
- We all join the general assembly of SETIP on Monday 12/02 at 19.00 at Studio New Star Art Cinema, Stavropoulou 33 Str.
