Condolence Message to the Workers of Italy

Published on

PAME expresses its condolences to the USB trade union and all the workers of Italy for the victims of the great floods in the Emilia Romana region.

According to the information so far 9 people have died and more than 13,000 have been forced to leave their homes due to the floods.

In Greece, Italy, etc., in the snow people are freezing, in the heat they are burning and in the rain they are flooding as if we were living centuries ago, while all the possibilities of technology and science exist to protect human life. All over the world the working and poor people are becoming the victims of ‘natural disasters’ that could have been avoided but for the Governments the policy of prevention and protection of life is considered a cost.

The loss of so many souls in Italy fills us with sadness and anger. In these difficult circumstances we find strength through collective, organised struggle and solidarity.

We stand with the workers and people of Italy.
