PAME, which represents the class trade union movement of Greece, expresses its solidarity with the strikers of the Huerta de Peralta factory in the Basque Country and the LAB trade union for the strike against layoffs.

Workers at the factory began a strike on 26 December against the dismissal of four of their colleagues. The factory employs mainly migrant workers in very bad conditions. Employers made layoffs to attack against the workers’ organization and also used the police forces that attacked the strikers on the second day of the strike.

PAME expresses its solidarity with the strikers of the Huerta de Peralta factory in the Basque Country and the LAB union. We denounce the police and employers’ attacks on strikers. We call for the withdrawal of the layoffs and the freedom of workers to trade unionism and action.
