The multinational company Vodafone has announced layoffs of about 1,700 workers around the world and especially in India, Romania and Egypt, so it can boost its profits.
In Greece, VODAFONE also follows the exact same policy. Layoffs, flexible forms of employment, low wages, especially in the company’s call centers, outsourcing, abolition of fixed-work hours and abolition of the 8hour workday.
The working class in Europe must give a common response to the attacks of the monopolies and the capital. We need to coordinate our struggles against the layoffs and the anti-labor policies and practices implemented by VODAFONE company and other multinational companies with the aim to multiply their profits.
The European Regional Office of WFTU expresses its class solidarity and support with the workers of VODAFONE in Greece and their strike today Monday, September 24, against the company’s layoffs. We call all organizations to express solidarity and support to the struggle of the workers of Call Centers in Greece
We also call you to send contact information of Vodafone and telecom unions for better coordination and solidarity
You can send Solidarity messages to VODAFONE Workers in Greece at
