PAME denounces the arrest of General Secretary of the Turkish Union DISK

PAME denounces the arrest of Arzu Çerkezoğlu, General Secretary of the Turkish Union DISK. Arzu Çerkezoğlu was arrested on June 17, under the charge of “insulting the President”, R. T. Erdogan, during her speech on August, 15, 2015. The arrest of the GS of DISK is an attack against trade union rights and freedoms, against the unions’ right to criticize political forces and fight against anti-workers’ governments.

The class trade union movement of Greece, PAME, expresses its solidarity to the workers of Turkey and demands the immediate release of the arrested unionist.
