Piraeus COSCO Dockers’ Union-ENEDEP Solidarity with Eric Helgeson

Published on

The ENEDEP union of dockers at the port of Piraeus expresses its solidarity with Eric Helgeson, vice-president of the Federation of Dockers in Sweden, who has been informed of his dismissal by the employer company that manages the port of Gothenburg.

The company sued our colleague because the Swedish dockworkers did their internationalist duty and refused to transport war material destined for the bodies of the Palestinian people from the murderous state of Israel.

The dockers of Piraeus stand by our brothers and sisters in Sweden. In our struggle as port workers to prevent the slaughter of the Palestinian people, we are not afraid of persecution or threats. The greatest weapon for us is solidarity, which we saw last October when we blocked a container with 22 tons of bullets going to the port of Haifa.

We are putting into practice in these circumstances the motto one for all and all for one.
