A delegation of PAME met on Friday, January 9, with the Ambassador of Cuba to Greece, Aramis Fuente Hernández. The PAME delegation conveyed the condemnation of the workers and trade unions of Greece against the threats made by Trump and other US government officials against socialist Cuba, as well as against the imperialist aggression of the United States, which has been further emboldened following the unacceptable imperialist military intervention of the US army in Venezuela.
The delegation also expressed its self-evident and unequivocal condemnation of the attack on Venezuela, as well as of the overall escalation of US imperialist aggression against the peoples of Latin America as a whole. It was emphasized that this constitutes a criminal act directed against the independence of peoples and their inalienable right to decide for themselves their present and future, free from foreign interventions, pressure, and blackmail.
During the meeting, the longstanding support of the working class and the people of Greece for the people of Cuba was underlined. Internationalist solidarity is a weapon of the working class against the rivalries of the imperialists, who once again are preparing to drown peoples in blood through wars and interventions in the interests of the monopolies. This reality is confirmed by current developments and war fronts, from Ukraine and the Middle East to Latin America.
Finally, the delegation asked the Ambassador to convey to the government and people of Cuba their sincere condolences for the death of Cuban fighters who fell heroically during the murderous US attack on Venezuela.
PAME calls on the working class and the trade unions to strengthen internationalist solidarity with the people of Cuba and with all peoples, to build a wall of resistance against the war plans of the USA–NATO–EU, within the framework of their rivalries with China and Russia over the redivision of the world. So that the blood of peoples is not shed for the profits of the imperialists, for a world without wars, poverty, and exploitation, and for the prospect of a society that serves the contemporary needs of the working class and the peoples.
