Solidarity with the struggle of the workers of France and their strike action on September 10th

The All-Workers Militant Front (PAME) expresses its solidarity with the workers of France and their unions who on September 10 are going on strike and mobilizing against the new anti-labour attack of the French government.

A plan that foresees the freezing of pensions and benefits, cuts in public sector jobs, new counter-reforms in the social security and unemployment benefit systems, additional burdens on workers through new taxes, increased healthcare costs paid out of their own pockets, and even the abolition of public holidays and the fifth week of paid leave.

Workers all over Europe face the same attack: the abolition of the fixed daily work hours, 13-hour workdays, “flexibility,” cuts in spending for healthcare, education, and social security. In Greece, the government is preparing  to bring before parliament a new monstrous anti-labour bill for an even greater extension of working hours to 13 per day, implementing EU directives.

Our common enemy in every country is the monopolies, the European Union, and their governments, who, in the name of business profitability and competitiveness, and the needs of the war economy, load the burden of state debt and the colossal military spending of €850 billion onto the backs of the workers. There is money for wars and the atrocities of the imperialists, for the murderous state of Israel that slaughters the Palestinian people, but not for Healthcare, Education, or Social Security.

From Greece to France, across all Europe, we strengthen our common struggles against the monopolies and their governments for wage increases, collective agreements, better working conditions, for the peoples not to pay for the plans of the EU and NATO, and to build a wall of resistance to their imperialist wars.

We strengthen the solidarity of unions with the peoples who suffer from the aggressiveness of the imperialists, and especially with the people of Palestine, to end the genocide and the occupation, and to gain their own independent state!

For the overthrow of the barbaric capitalist system that breeds poverty, wars, and migration!

Long live the struggles of the workers of France and Greece!
