PAME condemns the plans of the USA and its allies for a military intervention in Venezuela. The statements of the U.S. Secretary of War announcing the launch of a military operation named “Southern Spear” and the deployment of the largest U.S. aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, to the Caribbean region represent a serious escalation of imperialist aggression against Venezuela and the peoples of Latin America.

As with every imperialist intervention, the pretext of “combating drug trafficking” is once again being used to conceal the real objectives; control over natural resources, energy transport routes, and markets.

The peoples have no need for “protectors” and “saviors” who bring nothing but wars, coups, poverty, and forced displacement. The only force entitled to determine developments in Venezuela is the Venezuelan people themselves, free from foreign interventions and interference.

We express our solidarity with the working class and the people of Venezuela, who are once again confronted with the imperialist aggression of the United States.

We stand with the trade unions and workers defending their right to decide their own future, resisting every form of foreign intervention.

We call on unions, workers, and youth to strengthen the struggle against the war plans of the imperialists, to raise a strong voice of condemnation against any involvement of Greece in the war plans of the USA–NATO–EU, which bring only dangers and suffering to the peoples.

The right of all the peoples to decide their present and future is non-negotiable
