From Paris to Athens
Join the unions – Take to the streets – Go on strike!
PAME salutes the thousands of striking workers in France and their unions, who yesterday flooded the streets across the country, shouting out their determination not to bow their heads before the anti-workers’ attack of the Macron government, the corporations, and the EU.
The massive strike on September 10th and the demonstrations sent a message of hope and defiance against the policies that sacrifice workers’ needs and rights on the altar of capitalist profits and wars.
We denounce the brutal state repression, the targeting of trade unions, and the media propaganda storm, which aims to slander class struggles and intimidate workers.
Our needs do not fit into their profits! Just like the workers of France, in Greece, we too are stepping up the fight for Collective Agreements, wage increases, reduction of working time, health and safety measures, and funding for health and education.
We salute the decision of the French trade unions to escalate their struggle with a new strike on September 18. In Greece, the unions are waging the battle with a nationwide, all-workers strike on October 1 against the 13-hour workday bill and the generalization of the jungle of labour relations.
The struggle of workers across Europe is a common one, against governments, against NATO’s goal of spending 5% of GDP on military expenditures, against the European Union and its “war economy” that strangles the people’s needs, attacks working time, labour relations, wages, and our rights to health, education, and social security while it spends over €850 billion for the escalation of armed conflicts and the slaughter of peoples, among them the heroic Palestinian people by the murderer state of Israel.

We continue, we escalate, we strengthen our solidarity!
