An internationalist delegation of PAME will visit the Island of the Revolution, Cuba, from February 20 to 23, as part of the development and strengthening of internationalist bonds of solidarity among the workers of our countries. This visit is part of PAME’s internationalist initiatives and follows the recent visit to heroic Palestine.
The visit takes place at a time of dangerous escalation of imperialist aggression by the United States across Latin America, and particularly against Cuba. Through the continuation and tightening of the criminal blockade—along with sanctions, threats, and economic warfare—they seek to bring to its knees a people who for decades have held their heads high and refused to submit.
Emboldened by the imperialist military intervention in Venezuela, the Trump administration is further intensifying its aggression against Cuba. The United States is preparing to impose tariffs and sanctions on countries that supply Cuba with oil and other vital goods, aiming to strangle the economy and the daily life of the Cuban people.
PAME honors the Cuba of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, the defiant Cuban people who proved in practice that peoples can take their destiny into their own hands. A Cuba that, despite immense difficulties, continues to stand as a beacon of resistance and internationalist solidarity, offering tangible support to peoples and workers around the world, through doctors, educators, and selfless assistance to their struggles, as was clearly demonstrated during the pandemic.
PAME conveys the solidarity of Greece’s trade unions and working class to the struggle of the Cuban people and of every people for the right to freely choose their social and political system, to decide their own affairs, without imperialist interventions and foreign oppressors.
