Trade unions and workers staged a protest at the Ministry of Environment and Energy early in the morning of Thursday October 1, displaying a giant banner and chanting slogans against high electricity and fuel prices.
Cheap fuel and electricity for the people! Collective agreements and higher wages!
We refuse to tolerate high prices that eat away at our income. We fight for affordable energy so that workers and their families can meet their electricity, fuel and heating needs.
We demand government action here and now! Substantial reductions and caps on energy and fuel prices. Abolition of all indirect taxes and VAT on energy and fuel. Defiance of EU and fiscal “constraints”, abolition of the energy exchange and use of lignite-fired power generation to provide cheap electricity.
No sacrifices for war or for the profits of the big energy corporations! We call on workers and the people to organise and rise up in struggle!
