Dockworkers, workers, and thousands of people once again responded to the call of the ENEDEP dockworkers’ Union in Cosco, the Piraeus Labour Centre, and many other Unions and Associations of Athens, raising a wall of solidarity with the people of Palestine and against the involvement of Greece in the imperialist war.
The goal was to block the unloading of a cargo of enriched steel for military use, scheduled for arrival aboard the ship Cosco Shipping Pisces and bound for Israel for use in the ongoing massacre of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Drawing strength from the massive turnout at the mobilization, the ENEDEP dockworkers’ Union in Cosco announced that it would ensure, through its continuous presence on the ship, that the five containers carrying the deadly cargo will not be unloaded for as long as the ship remains in the port of Piraeus.
This mobilization shows the path that the people must follow so that we, the workers, will not become cogs in the imperialist war machine that massacres peoples, so that we will not become victims of war.
The stance of the COSCO dockworkers and their Union is an example for the entire working class. It is living proof that workers across the globe can show their solidarity with the peoples fighting against the unjust wars of the imperialists.
The dockworkers declare it loud and clear: We will not stain our hands with the blood of the peoples.
We will not become accomplices to the genocide of the people of Palestine!
No to the involvement of Greece and Piraeus Port in the wars of the imperialists!
Stop all economic, political, and military cooperation with the murderous state of Israel
Freedom for Palestine
