With massive participation Unions and Workers responded to the call of PAME for a protest at the Health Ministry in Athens on June 8.
Dozens of Unions with thousands of workers rallied in front of the Ministry denouncing the policy of commercialization of Public Healthcare and the worsening of the conditions in the public Healthcare System, because of years of underfunding and understaffing.
Workers, students, pensioners, self-employed sent their militant message to the next government that it will face the struggles of the workers’ – people’s movement, to put an end to criminal policies, because “our health is not a cost”, as the slogan on the central banner of PAME read.
The indignation and anger of the people for the “crimes”, which bear the signatures of the governments, were expressed by all the speakers from the platform of the rally, condemning the tragic shortcomings in health care, while the demonstrators shouted slogans such as, “They do not count human lives, they talk about profits and damages” and “Drugs, doctors, free health care – now the employers have to pay”.
